JASPER

JASPER is an evidence-based, naturalistic, developmental behavioural intervention (NDBI). JASPER supports the development of social communication skills (including joint attention, gestures and language), play skills, social engagement and regulation in autistic children.

Nurture has been working since 2021 with the Kasari Lab at the University of California, Los Angeles, to bring JASPER (Joint Attention, Symbolic Play, Engagement, and Regulation: Kasari, Gulsrud, Shire & Strawbridge, 2021) to Vancouver.

Our team is now home to the one of the largest groups of certified JASPER therapists in the world, and we are the only certified JASPER providers west of Ontario! Our Co-Founder and Clinic DIrector, Dr. Kate Chase, is one of only 25 certified JASPER trainers world-wide.

JASPER is offered at Nurture as a 16 week program, with 2, 45 minute individual sessions each week. There is strong research showing that as little as 12 weeks of this playful, engaging, naturalistic therapy can lead to strong gains in joint engagement, communication, and play skills in many children.

You can find out more about this exciting program by calling us at 604.327.9734, or emailing us at admin@nurturelearn.ca.
